Reading the Quran with proper Tajweed is an obligation for every Muslim. This course teaches you the rules of correct Quranic recitation so you read exactly as the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

- Makharij (articulation points of Arabic letters) — where each sound originates
- Sifat (characteristics of letters) — the qualities that distinguish similar sounds
- Madd rules (elongation) and their types — when and how long to stretch a sound
- Nun sakinah and tanween rules — izhar, idgham, iqlab, and ikhfa
- Meem sakinah rules — idgham shafawi, ikhfa shafawi, and izhar shafawi
- Waqf (stopping rules) and continuation — where to pause and where to continue
- Recitation with proper rhythm, melody and breath control

Do I need to know Noorani Qaida first? Yes, you should be able to read Arabic letters and join them into words. If you cannot, start with our Noorani Qaida course first.
Will I learn to memorise the Quran in this course? This course focuses on recitation. For memorisation, ask your teacher about Hifz classes after you have solid Tajweed.
Can I choose which Mushaf to use? Yes. Your teacher will recommend one based on your reading level, but the choice is yours.
